This film was very different from the first Joker movie which felt incredibly dark. I left the first film feeling numb and on edge. However, I felt the musical numbers in this helped make this film feel faster-paced and almost lighter in tone. I enjoyed the courtroom setting but overall I felt the storyline lacked focus. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it stuck to one idea rather than trying to give us three different stories. Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix’s performances were outstanding and I would have loved to of seen them on screen together more.
