What made Frozen so endearing to many audiences is the strong bond between Anna and Elsa and the themes of unconditional sisterhood and love that relationship delivered. Midway (12A)

By Film Club

Release Date: 8th November 2019

3/5 Stars

Midway is the non-fiction story of the initial USA and Japanese conflict of WW2, and it being the anniversary of Armistice makes the movie even more impactive. However as the film has been released post the summer boom and having come across minimal marketing I fear it may not be well seen by audiences at the cinema. This would be a real shame as the film’s conflict scenes are visually amazing. Read More

Terminator: Dark Fate (15)

By Film Club

Release Date 23rd October 2019

2/5 Stars

After all the hype about Terminator: Dark Fate being a direct sequel to Terminator 2 (thereby disregarding all the other franchise outings) I went in blind. (I had not seen any trailers and didn’t know the plot at all) Also having not watched the others since T2 was back in cinemas a couple of years ago, I felt cautiously optimistic. It seemed like a bit of a cash grab idea but I’m always up for seeing Linda Hamilton being a badass and you can never go wrong with Arnie! Read More

Review 5/5 Stars

I went to see Maleficent Mistress of Evil on Monday, I wasn’t looking forward to it but I was shocked and surprised to see such a brilliantly made film. What a treat! The film was exiting, happy, sad, and in some places scary. I really would have been happy if it had been twice the length. I did consider paying to watch it again but I had another appointment and wasn’t able to spare the time! Read More

We may have seen our fair share of attempts at DC  trying to steal the comic book movie limelight away from Marvel (and fail) and whilst no one asked for a Joker origin story this is definitely a viewing you don’t want to miss. Todd Philips directs this dark, brave and thought provoking story about how the Joker started as failed stand up comedian Arthur Fleck. Read More

I feel the film started with great expectations and looked like it was going to be a good action-packed movie. However as the film went on it seemed to be very slow and dragged on. Read More
